Kiseljak is preparing for the World Championship in spinning fishing

The residents of Kiselaja are preparing for an unusual event these days. Namely, this BiH. in mid-May, the city will host the World Championship in spinning fishing, i.e. fishing with artificial lures.

According to the president of the Sports and Fishing Association of Bosnia and Herzegovina Danijelo Kobacic, the arrival of fishermen from twenty countries is expected.

“The World Championship will be held from May 15 to 20 on the Lepenica river in Kiseljak, and partly on the Lašva river in Busovača. We expect the arrival of around 20 national teams, we have been working and preparing the tracks for a long time,”  said Kobacic.

The World Championship is the peak of the season in this type of fishing, which, in addition to fly fishing, is one of the most popular disciplines of hunting predatory fish species.

The BiH national team will be made up of the best anglers of the spinning league, which is held every year at several BiH. the river.

Given that fishing is one of the targeted activities when it comes to the promotion of tourism in the area of ​​Central Bosnia, and the entire event is supported by the Tourist Board of the Canton of Central Bosnia.

– This championship will be significant for the promotion of this part of the tourism potential of Central Bosnia. Fishing, along with hiking and cycling, is one of the branches of active tourism in which we really have something to offer our guests, so we will contribute to the promotion of this event – said Miroslav Matošević, director of the Central Bosnia Canton Tourist Board.
