Yesterday, the Ministry of Economy of Sarajevo Canton published a public call for the realization of a program to support young people in the establishment of start-up business entities. The program is realized within the framework of the annual implementation plan of the Small Business Development Incentive Program.
This year’s program includes a million BAM for young people, who can receive support in the total amount of 21,600 BAM, of which 18,000 BAM is a grant for starting their own business, and 3,600 BAM for salaries and contributions for the first six months of business for an employee of a newly established business entity.
– Compared to the previous year, we have made all the changes that could be harmonized according to the Law on Small Business Incentives, which means that we have relaxed the activity code criterion and all those who could not apply because of this criterion before, can now do so. In addition, we increased the amount of grant funds from 15,000 to 18,000 BAM and reduced the amount of our own participation from 10 to 5 percent – said the Minister of Economy of Sarajevo Canton Adnan Delic.
He added that last year one of the obstacles for young people when applying for this program was writing a business plan, and the Ministry of Economy also provided mentoring for business plan writing.
– In cooperation with Startup Studio, we want to provide young people with education on business plan writing, and I am glad that we managed to agree on that this year. Cooperation with everyone who can contribute to the development of the business environment is important to us, and we are always ready for cooperation. We are doing our best to establish a business incubator by the end of this year, which will be under the jurisdiction of the Ministry of Economy and which will be our base from which we will work to support the development of entrepreneurship and the overall business environment in the area of our Canton – added Minister Delic.
