Jasmina Banjalučkić, Head of the Department for the Development of Youth Policies at the Institute for Youth Development KULT stated that this was a continuation of good cooperation with the Ilijaš Municipality.
Mayor of Ilijaš Municipality Akif Fazlić held a meeting with the Executive Director of the Institute for Youth Development KULT Šeherzada Halimić and the Head of the Department for Development of Youth Policies at the Institute for Youth Development KULT Jasmina Banjalučkić. The meeting was also attended by the Assistant Chief in the Department for Social Activities Sanja Zagorac – Jozić and the expert associate for education, youth issues and the NGO sector Enisa Mešetović.
The reason for the meeting was the signing of the Agreement on research services on the needs and problems of young people in the Ilijaš Municipality.
Mayor Akif Fazlić stressed the importance of researching the position and needs of young people, as well as drafting a strategic document that will contribute to an even more effective youth policy at the level of Ilijaš Municipality in education, employment, social and health care, culture and sports, awareness on certain topics and security. “Ilijaš Municipality is recognized as a youth-friendly municipality and our goal is to keep that title and enable lasting well-being of young people as well as their active and responsible participation in the local community,” said Fazlić. Next year, the current Youth Strategy of the Ilijaš Municipality ends with an action plan for the period 2018-2022, so this research will serve as an introduction to the development of a new Strategy.
Jasmina Banjalučkić, Head of the Department for the Development of Youth Policies at the Institute for Youth Development KULT, said that this is a continuation of good cooperation with the Ilijaš Municipality, which has lasted for many years.
“In the next few months, we will actively work on research on the needs and problems of young people in the Ilijaš Municipality. The idea is to survey more than 300 young people in the coming period, in order to better understand the most current needs of young people in the Ilijaš Municipality. The research will be used for development of a Youth Strategy. This will be the third Youth Strategy of the Ilijaš Municipality and we are really glad to be able to contribute to the implementation of research through professional support. We will continue working together and will be happy to support further steps in the development of the Youth Strategy, given that it is very important for the Institute to have good cooperation with government institutions and to create better opportunities for young people. Young people want more opportunities that meet their needs and through this research we want to understand what young people really need and see how the Ilijaš Municipality itself can respond to these needs,” said Banjalučkić.
