Goran was a person who didn’t really like celebrating his birthday. Even on that day, everyone else was a priority for him.
He was a modest person, with megalomaniacal desires that were for the common good of all people, and everyone considered him as a friend, because he was a friend to everyone.
If he were alive today, he would still be modestly silent about this date, about his 50th birthday, he would work hard on his website, patiently answering numerous incoming messages and various inquiries. He would collect all sources of information that are available, follow the statistics and say with delight: “This is great! Here we are, this January people read the website more than January last year! We have reached out to people, we have helped people, now let’s remind ourselves of the most important information!” Yes, it was part of the daily routine of every Goran’s birthday, and not just a birthday, but a part of every other Goran’s day.
On one occasion he received a birthday card, which underlined the parallel that many great people were born on January 25, including Toše Proeski, when Goran shyly and modestly stated: “Ah, Toše! A wonderful man indeed, but Toše is one of a kind! I’m small compared to him!” But you were not Goran. You were one too. And you were and will remain, one of the greatest peacekeepers in Bosnia and Herzegovina, and beyond!
Thank you for everything, for the lessons about life, for selfless giving in everything and thank you for showing us what it means to be human.
