EUR 3.2 MILLION FOR THE CREATION OF LOCAL EMPLOYMENT PARTNERSHIPS IN BIH
Project LEP II, financed by the European Union, launched today Call for Proposals to support Local Employment Partnerships for improvement of socio-economic situation and living conditions in BiH. The implementation of the project will enable an increase in the share of local communities with effective partnership mechanisms that contribute to formal employment and ensure the creation and implementation of programs for activation and integration of unemployed persons into local labor markets.
Total indicative available budget allocated for this Public call is EUR 3,2 million and it will be allocated to minimum of 20 local employment partnerships. Grant funds range from a minimum of EUR 120,000 to a maximum of EUR 160,000, noting that project applicants must secure co-financing from their own resources in the amount of at least 10% of the total project value.
Employment challenges might be very specific to local communities in BiH. A cooperation project of local municipalities, employment services, employers, education institutions and non-governmental organizations through local employment partnerships has proven to be a successful approach to create jobs in Bosnia and Herzegovina. As a part of previous phase of this project (period 2016 -2019), funded by the European Union with EUR 4 million, local employment partnerships have trained 1584 unemployed persons, formally employed 517 persons, developed 38 services for job seekers and created 19 innovative teaching modules and curricula.
This Call for Proposals is intended for all labor market actors who aim to form partnerships at the local level as well as members of existing employment partnerships in Bosnia and Herzegovina. The final beneficiaries of all project proposals are unemployed persons registered at employment services.
