Edita Djapo: Vouchers operational at the beginning of August

15 days ago FBiH government adopted a program to support the development of tourism in the amount of five million BAM, of which two million were set aside for vouchers for citizens.

Platform selection

As Edita Djapo, Federal Minister of Environment and Tourism, said in an interview with “Avaz”, the public call for the selection of platforms through which the vouchers will be distributed has been published and will last until July 8 this year.

After the completion of the procedure related to the implementation of the public call, the citizens of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina will be able to choose the tourist package-arrangement that suits them and buy it electronically or in another way, by looking at the offers of tourist package-arrangements on the websites of digital platforms. Citizens will be informed about it through the website of the Ministry“, said Djapo.

According to the Minister, the goals of the Ministry are to, along with the digitization of the tourism sector, help the citizens of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, i.e., domestic tourists, to discover the beauties of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina and give them an incentive to travel and domestic tourism, but also to extend the tourist season.

We expect that, after all the procedural obligations we have to comply with, the vouchers will be operational at the beginning of August,” said Djapo.

Accommodation

The Minister emphasizes that citizens’ interest in using vouchers is great.

However, travel agencies had the opportunity to offer and sell their package arrangements on the websites of digital platforms, so we believe that they will now take advantage of the great interest of citizens in vouchers and offer an even more attractive and interesting arrangements. This is an opportunity to promote both destinations and agencies, as well as accommodation capacities in the FBiH area“, she said.

Minimum value

Once again, she explained how the 200 BAM voucher is used.

The digital voucher is worth 200 BAM, and the minimum value of the tourist package-arrangement is 250 BAM. This means that a citizen needs to pay a minimum of 50 BAM in order to stay in an accommodation in the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina that the tourist has chosen. Everything depends on the service offered and on the preferences of the tourist as the holder of the voucher“, stated Djapo.
