The organization “Mi Volimo Čajniče” organized and implemented the eco-action in cooperation with the Youth Council of the “Petar Petrović Njegoš” Secondary School Center in Čajniče.
The local civic initiative aims to activate citizens who will be focused on improving the situation in the local community and the society in which they live, which the NGO “Mi Volimo Čajniče” managed to achieve through a very important and useful activity that will benefit the entire local community and beyond. , regardless of age group.
Namely, the NGO “Mi Volimo Čajniče” organized and implemented at the end of October 2024. eco-action in the area of the Municipality of Čajniče, i.e. in the place of Zlodo. In addition to the main goal, which was the cleaning of the forest area, the initiative actively involved young people, in order to raise and strengthen the awareness of young people about the importance of protecting the environment and how they can make their environment a better and more beautiful place, both young and older populations. The sustainability of such activities and projects is reflected in the fact that during the activities, young people undergo education that includes theoretical work, but also field work, which represents a great combination that consequently causes awareness of the importance of environmental problems, environmental standards that should be adhered to by individuals and the collective.
Small steps like eco-actions in small and large spaces make important steps that reduce environmental pollution, destruction of biodiversity and depletion of natural resources. In addition, being in the open space and involving young people in activities related to the natural environment has a positive effect on their mental health, and volunteering strengthens teamwork, contributes to a sense of personal satisfaction, has a positive impact on the emotional state, significantly reduces stress and anxiety.
Although challenges and obstacles exist, young people show more and more often that they are capable and that they want to dedicate themselves to preserving the environment, and the NGO “Mi Love Čajniče” has really demonstrated this through the implementation of the project “Let’s clean nature”.
The eco-action “Let’s clean up nature” is supported through the project “Let’s devise, create and adopt policies towards young people” financed by the European Union and implemented by the Institute for Youth Development KULT in partnership with the Regional Office for Youth Cooperation (RYCO), the Youth Council of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina , the Network of Youth Centers for Animation, Development and Training of the Republic of Srpska (MOCART) and the Association of High School Students in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
