The Novo Sarajevo Municipality, in cooperation with the Youth Council of Novo Sarajevo, is organizing the first Youth and Authorities Dialogue – implementation of the Youth Strategy in the Novo Sarajevo Municipality. The dialogue between the youth and the authorities of the Novo Sarajevo Municipality is realized in cooperation and with the support of the MAKERS project, implemented by the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) in Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Institute for Youth Development KULT.
Youth-government dialogue is a model of participatory process in which young people and decision-makers continuously cooperate and jointly formulate recommendations for improving the position of young people. Youth-government dialogue is a space for interaction in which young people actively contribute to the development of quality youth policies at all levels of government. This activity enables civil society, young people and other partners to jointly identify, promote and implement activities to build trust and strengthen social cohesion.
During the dialogue, participants will have the opportunity to discuss several areas, which are also part of the process of the Youth Strategy of the Novo Sarajevo Municipality and are of great importance for young people in the local community.
Areas that will be discussed during the dialogue are:
- Activism and participation, leisure, mobility and information of young people
- Youth social care and security
- Youth work, employment and self-employment
- Sports and youth culture
Participants of the dialogue will participate in the creation and development of initiatives and policies that will benefit young people, and in addition to youth representatives, the dialogue will be attended by representatives of government institutions and decision makers of the Municipality. The dialogue will provide an opportunity to improve these areas and enable youth organizations and government institutions to participate together in creating the Youth Strategy of the Novo Sarajevo Municipality.
The dialogue between the youth and the authorities will be held on January 31, 2022, from 10:00 to 14:00, in the premises of the International Center for Children and Youth at Kemal Kapetanovića 17 in Sarajevo.
Due to the current epidemiological situation in the Sarajevo Canton, the number of participants of the Youth Dialogue and the authorities of the Novo Sarajevo Municipality will unfortunately be limited. For this reason, a direct invitation was sent to government institutions as well as youth organizations and organizations working with young people.
