As 2024 draws to a close, cargo-partner, a company within NIPPON EXPRESS HOLDINGS, INC., looks back on a year of humanitarian initiatives organized by teams around the world. Demonstrating its commitment to social responsibility, the international logistics provider participated in a variety of projects aimed at advancing education, improving community well-being, and supporting vulnerable populations around the world.

Europe: Supporting communities through targeted initiatives
In Austria, cargo-partner proudly supported the PSY+ initiative, which promotes sustainable mental health in schools through prevention and targeted interventions. In addition, the company supported the international humanitarian organization Mary’s Meals, contributing to the delivery of 3,575 backpacks filled with 12 tons of school supplies and clothing to children in Malawi. The backpacks, packed by Austrian children and collected by volunteers, will be used by students enrolled in the Mary’s Meals daily school meal program.
In Slovakia, employees transformed a logistics center into Santa’s workshop, supporting the “How much love fits in a shoebox” initiative. In the Bratislava warehouse, the team organized the palletization and storage of 33 pallets with 2,895 gift boxes, which were later delivered to senior citizens in retirement homes. In Slovenia, cargo-partner facilitated a humanitarian shipment for Caritas Slovenia, delivering essential supplies to Lebanon for a project that helps women and children. In Croatia, the company supported the Mali Zmaj “Back to School” initiative, providing students with basic school supplies, while cargo-partner in Bosnia and Herzegovina has traditionally participated in the “No Child Without a Package” campaign.
In September, the team in Hungary supported a local children’s home with various donations and garden renovation works. Also, the Hungarian team organized the collection of donations for “Dr. Lalu”, a clown doctor who lifts the spirits of children during hospital visits. At the end of the year, they participate in collecting gifts for children’s homes and women’s shelters, providing basic items such as durable food, hygiene items and bedding.
In the UK, the Manchester office took part in the Macmillan Cancer Support Coffee Morning, raising funds to provide vital services to people living with cancer. Employees also supported the Salvation Army Christmas Toy Drive, collecting toys for children from disadvantaged families. To mark the end of the year, employees took part in Christmas Sweater Day, wearing festive sweaters and collecting donations to support the mission of Save the Children.
Asia: Spreading joy through community events
In Shanghai, colleagues took part in the Cargo Human Care 5km charity race, organised by Lufthansa Cargo, raising funds for a vocational training centre in Kenya. The office in Shenyang, North China, donated office equipment to the Shenyang Federation of Charities, supporting schools, orphanages and homes for the elderly.
In Hong Kong, cargo-partner was the guest of honor at the Plan International Hong Kong Partner Awards 2024 ceremony for its long-term cooperation with the child sponsorship program. Employees also participated in a drive to collect toys for the Salvation Army, bringing smiles to children in need.
The cargo-partner team in Indonesia organized an educational trip to the zoo for children from a local orphanage. In addition to a fun afternoon, the initiative included lessons on biodiversity, environmental conservation and social responsibility, reflecting the company’s commitment to awareness-raising and inclusion.
United States: Help through fundraising and donations
In the run-up to Christmas, the cargo-partner team in the US collaborated with the US Marine Corps’ Toys for Tots program, collecting and distributing toys to children from economically disadvantaged families. During Thanksgiving, the team supported the No Kid Hungry campaign by organizing a raffle and various fundraising activities to fight child hunger. In addition, colleagues in New York donated clothing and books to Catholic Charities Brooklyn and Queens, an organization that has been helping local communities in need since 1899.
This year’s activities highlight Cargo-Partner’s ongoing focus on social responsibility and sustainability, confirming its role as a socially conscious leader in the logistics industry.
