Campaign “For my happier childhood”: Citizens and companies collected more than 52,000 BAM

We did it! We collected funds for the adaptation of the premises in the Home for Children without Parental Care in Tuzla, thus successfully completing the first part of the campaign “For my happier childhood”. Thanks to the efforts of over 200 donors, more than 52,000 BAM was collected.

The large living room with six attached bedrooms and a toilet of 257 m2 will soon get a completely new, decent look and become a safe place for children living in it. It means a lot to them.

“I’m overjoyed that the campaign was a success and I can’t wait to see my new room. I think it will just be a lot nicer and more comfortable,” says MB, one of 13 girls living in the Home, adding that all the girls she shares a living space with are eagerly waiting for the renovation to be completed so that they can enjoy their “new home”.

We would like to take this opportunity to thank from the bottom of our hearts all those who in any way supported the campaign “For my happier childhood”, and special thanks to Ms. Merima Dževdetbegović and Menprom doo who launched this initiative.

A total of 217 donors – 32 philanthropic companies and 185 individuals, who joined us in the campaign, and who contributed to the achievement of the goal with their generous donations, proved that we can do everything together.

A big thank you:

We would also like to thank the Dautbašić, Ribić, Edin Šerifović families, basketball players, handball players and all other athletes who joined the campaign for their support. Additionally, we would like to thank the media, employees of the Home, as well as colleagues who led the campaign.

We have proved that all problems and challenges can be solved by joining forces, because where there is a problem, there is a solution. Society is as healthy as it is willing to help marginalized categories of the population. Financial support is important, but the sense of togetherness is much more important, acceptance and security that the community can provide with its support. Only then every goal is achievable, because charity is an investment in the future.

Although we have met the goal, the needs for investment in the Home are great, so those who still want to make their contributions can do that at following link: https://doniraj.ba/project/view/za-moje-sretnije-djetinjstvo. All collected funds will be spent transparently according to the children’s needs.

In the coming months, we will start renovating the premises after the end of the heating season. We hope that children will be able to enjoy their new rooms in the summer.
