Call for rural households from Katun neighborhood to attend free training

A free training for representatives of 50 households/rural families in Katun neighborhood will be held.

SERDA Regional Development Agency, Fojnica Municipality and Faculty of Agriculture and Food, University of Sarajevo, in partnership with the National Tourism Organization of Montenegro and the Regional Development Agency for Bjelasica, Komovi and Prokletije, is implementing a project called “Katun Roads of Montenegro and Bosnia and Herzegovina” which is financed by European Union, within the IPA cross-border cooperation program Bosnia and Herzegovina and Montenegro.

The project aims to improve the quality and diversify of the tourist offer based on the natural and cultural heritage of the cross-border area of ​​ Bosnia and Herzegovina and Montenegro. The total value of the project is 466,530.53 EUR (912,244.46 BAM), of which the EU finances 85%, i.e., 396,518.85 EUR (775,523.46 BAM), while the rest is co-financed by project partners.

As tourism is a new activity for most katuns, the provision of appropriate technical assistance to rural families in relation to tourism is extremely important for the sustainability of this action and the overall success. Within the project, among other activities, a free training for representatives of 50 households/rural families in Katun settlements will be held, which will cover the following topics:

  • Module 1: Basics of catering (guest accommodation and food preparation),
  • Module 2: Inclusion of elements of tradition in the tourist offer,
  • Module 3: Product packaging.

USERS

Members of family farms (rural households), which provide or plan to provide services in the field of rural tourism, and whose katuns (rural huts) are located in the Fojnica, Konjic, Kiseljak, Kreševo ​​and Visoko municipalities. A maximum of one person will be appointed as a representative of each household.

EXPECTED RESULTS

This training will significantly improve the capacity of the population and increase the overall quality of tourist services provided in the huts, making them a more interesting tourist destination as a whole.

TRAINING DATES

The training will be held in two groups (25 people each) in the following terms:

Group 1.

  • February 07, 2022 – module 1
  • February 09, 2022 – module 2
  • February 11, 2022 – module 3

Group 2.

  • February 08, 2022 – module 1
  • February 10, 2022 – module 2
  • February 14, 2022 – module 3

PLACE OF TRAINING

Spa “Reumal”, Banjska 1, Fojnica. Lunch and refreshments are provided for the trainees.

The deadline for applications is February 4, 2022 or until the planned number of participants is reached.

All interested parties are invited to attend the training, with the obligatory observance of protection measures against the COVID-19 virus (wearing protective masks, keeping physical distance, etc.).
