PRONI Center for Youth Development together with the partners of the Association Nešto Više are implementing the project: “Youth Retention Program in Bosnia and Herzegovina – General Mobilization“, funded by the European Union.
As part of the project, we are organizing the Young Activist Academy “General Mobilization”, which is intended for young activists from all over Bosnia and Herzegovina aged 18-30.
The Young Activist Academy “General Mobilization” was established with the aim of strengthening the capacity of the youth sector to participate in education and employment reform in order to reduce the migration of young people from Bosnia and Herzegovina.
The purpose of the academy is to train young activists, young professionals, representatives and activists of youth civil society organizations through a three-day training, to recognize with active social engagement where and when they can get involved in drafting documents (laws, regulations, strategies, budgets) in their community. The academy consists of three modules and practical work.
The modules are as follows:
- Module 1: Conducting expert advocacy campaigns
- Module 2: Defining sources, researching and making studies as advocacy tools
- Module 3: Initiation of sectoral public consultations on employment and education
Practical work is reflected in the following three segments:
- Design a campaign to change a youth-related policy in their community
- Participants highlight all youth-related policies in their community
- Design and create a list of persons/organizations/institutions that would invite public consultations to change a policy related to youth in their community
After graduating from the academy, participants will gain both theoretical and practical knowledge in the field of organizing advocacy campaigns. Also, they will acquire the skills of defining problems in their communities, and will competently, with additional mentoring, design and implement campaigns that will contribute to solving these problems.
