Bjelašnički Studeni potok bound by snow: the residents of Umolija keep the memory of the legend

The snow-capped Studeni Potok, located near the village of Umoljani, on the southern side of Mount Bjelašnica, approximately 50 kilometers from the center of Sarajevo, is a real attraction.

The Bjelašnica village of Umoljani proudly preserves Studeni Potok, an oasis of peace and nature, which was created, as legend has it, when a dragon tried to swallow the village and its inhabitants.

According to the legend, the dragon headed towards Umoljani through the valley hidden among the hills. With her body, she left a winding trail in the green valley, which today is filled with crystal clear water.

Locals fled to a nearby hill, from where they asked God to save them. Their pleas were answered, and the dragon remained petrified on the hill above the valley.

Today, the November Stream is a sight that leaves many mountaineers and nature lovers breathless, who find rest and silence there, interrupted only by the soft murmur of water and (or) the chirping of birds.
