BiH Actors’ Festival in Konjic: Multi-minute applause for the play ‘Skrtac’ by NP from Tuzla

As part of the 11th BiH actor’s festival in Konjic on Thursday evening, the play “Scrooge” of the Tuzla National Theater was played.

The director for this play is Tamara Damjanović, and it is based on the text of JB Moliere. The actors humorously tell the story of the character Harpagon, who is played by Elvis Jahić in the play, and talks about his miserliness and greed for money, that is, his desire for constant materialism, the festival announced.

“Unfortunately, we started looking at everything materially. Miserliness is one of the ‘seven sins’, and now when you look here, it’s not just money, it’s simply not giving a hug. I believe that a man can be big hearted and soulful if he also gives that, but this man is stingy in that as well. Harpagon, the role I play, is miserly in every sense. He doesn’t give love, let’s not talk about money. I hope that the message reached the audience, and we are very satisfied with the hospitality and participation in the BiH Actor’s Festival” – said the main protagonist Elvis Jahić.

In the play, actor Edis Žilić plays the son of Cleanta, who squanders money, unlike his father, who only cares about money without regard for other people’s feelings.

“I got the role of the prodigal son, which is the opposite of the character of the miser, and that’s where the main dramaturgical conflict occurs. The play sends a message that materialism has become very important to all of us today, that some values, such as the most important ones, which are family values, have come to a secondary or even a slightly further position in relation to that material world,” said Žilić. .

Thanks to the Festival sponsors Bosnalijek Company, ASA Group and BH Telecom, the eleventh season of the “Festival Glumca BiH Konjica” continues with repertoire content, and the next one will follow on Thursday, September 12 at 8 p.m., when the Bosnian National Theater of Zenica will host a performance “Orphans”.

Before that, on Monday, September 9, as part of the Off program, the promotion of the Edition of Contemporary Dramatic Texts will be held, namely “Pink Moon” by Dario Bevanda and “If you spoke out loud” by Adnan Lugonić.
