In the period from December 1, 2020 to May 31, 2021, the Association “Lan” from Bihać, with the financial support of the Schuler Helfen Leben Foundation, is implementing the project titled “Let me be a child”. The main goal of the project is to improve the quality of life of children and youth in the city of Bihać and children in the Temporary Reception Centers Sedra and Borići.
In March and April, six educational workshops with children on the move were held at the Temporary Reception Centers Sedra and Borići. The topics of the workshops were health, hygiene, hygiene habits, and sports workshops. The workshops were attended by children aged 5 to 17 and all workshops were customized to the age of the children.
In April, an art workshop was held with children on the move and an exhibition of art work created through the project “Let me be a child” was organized. Children and young people from the Temporary Reception Centers Sedra and Borići prepared art work on the topic of their stay in Bosnia and Herzegovina, while young people from the city of Bihać prepared art work on the topic My neighbor – person on the move. The exhibition was organized in the Temporary Reception Center Borići with fun gifts for visitors to the exhibition and participants of the art workshop.
In May, a play was held for children and youth from the Temporary Reception Center Borići with the aim of strengthening their positive spirit and getting to know the culture of the community in which they currently reside. The children enjoyed, danced and sang and most importantly had a great time.
The play for children is also the last activity within the successfully implemented project “Let me be a child”.
