Humanitarians and successful entrepreneurs Admir Rahimić from Mostar and entrepreneur originally from Sandžak Hajriz Brčvak fulfilled their promise and donated 40 vehicles for people affected by the floods in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
The handover was carried out in the presence of representatives of the Pomozi.ba organization, through which the donation was made and which paid the tax and customs duties on all cars in the amount of 331,942 KM.
These are Ford Fiesta, Opel Corsa and Nissan Micra vehicles that donors imported from Germany.
Working for the community and those in need
Incidentally, two humanitarians, Rahimić and Brčvak, have been living abroad and collaborating for years, and now they have united in a noble act.
Brcvak emphasized that the project was challenging, but thanks to people with a big heart, it became a reality.
“A big thank you to Admir Rahimić, the Pomozi.ba organization led by Elvir Karalić, who took over the customs and logistics costs, and our friend Gunter Willbrand, director of the Toyota car dealership, whose support was crucial for the realization of this project,” said Hajriz Brčvak.
According to Brčvak, they did not expect the misunderstanding of the state that did not agree to exempt the donation from customs and tax costs.
“However, our focus is on what we have achieved – families now have the means to make everyday life easier and the opportunity for a new start. This donation is a message that solidarity and the goodwill of citizens can overcome even those obstacles that the system fails to resolve. Thank you to everyone who participated in this action. We have shown that together we can do a lot!”, added Brčvak.
Everything is possible with joint forces
Admir Rahimić emphasized that as a responsible member of the community, he always wants to help and that it is his obligation. He hopes that with his donation, he will make life at least a little easier for people who suffered enormous damage in the floods.
“Hajriz is my long-time friend and someone who has done a lot of good for BiH. I sincerely thank him for the fact that together we managed to bring 40 cars,” Rahimić pointed out.
He especially thanked the Pomozi.ba organization.
“We united and succeeded. Thank you to Elvir Karalić and his people, because as you know – the Pomozi.ba organization paid the taxes and customs duties for all the vehicles. I think that from this place we can send a message of compassion and care for those who need us when it’s most difficult. Don’t forget, only what we give is ours,” added donor Admir Rahimić.
Cars for families from the flooded areas of Jablanica and Konjic will be distributed with the help of the organization Pomozi.ba.
“We have previously carried out various humanitarian actions with our friend Hajriz Brčvak, this time Admir Rahimić is also there, and it gives me great pleasure that Pomozi.ba is part of this story in a way that we helped these cars reach the end users. I would like to thank both Hajriz and Admir for such a great act, because 40 cars for 40 families is no small thing,” said Elvir Karalić, president of the Pomozi.ba organization, during the handover of the keys.
Locals of Donje Jablanica: Thank you to the donors
Ema Maslo Hasić from Donja Jablanica lost close family members in the floods.
“You can’t even imagine what it’s like to search for your loved ones in the mud, dirt, and sand. Even today, it hasn’t been cleared up. So many innocent people have died. Thank you to the organization Pomozi.ba, who were the first to send concrete help. We lost two vehicles, and now, thanks to donors, we have a means of transportation again,” she said.
Kenan Masla, also from Donja Jablanica, had his house, garden, garage and cars destroyed in the floods.
“This donation means a lot to us, it’s great that people are helping. The value of the car is much higher than the ones we had before, thank them for that,” said Maslo.
The handover of cars to families from flooded areas was also attended by the mayors of the municipalities of Jablanica and Konjic.
In the catastrophic floods that hit the areas of Jablanica, Fojnica, Kiseljak, Kreševo and Konjic in October this year, 26 people died, and material damage is estimated at tens of millions of KM.
