On the eve of the International Volunteer Day, from December 01 – 05, the Tuzla Community Foundation is organizing an educational conference for young people “Youth Inspiration Academy” at the Tuzla Cultural Center. As in previous years, the conference celebrates the success of young people, volunteerism and gives young people the opportunity to participate in interactive educational workshops in areas that focus on their personal development and progress.
Every day from 11:00 to 15:00, in the premises of the International Portrait Gallery and the Youth Center, young people will be able to participate in workshops in the field of civic activism and leadership, entrepreneurship and career development, and mental health. On the International Volunteer Day (December 5, 2021), awards will be given to individuals and associations that have made an outstanding contribution to the development of young people in the past, after which a tea party will be organized at the Café Bar Sloboda.

In accordance with the epidemiological recommendations, the number of participants at the workshops will be limited.
Through the youth program, i.e., the Youth Bank, which has been gathering young people from Tuzla Canton for a decade, the Tuzla Community Foundation has been working on creating an environment in which young people want to stay and develop. Mirza Mujezinović, coordinator of the Youth Bank program at Tuzla Community Foundation, thinks that it is very challenging: “Young people are a resource and I am not afraid of smart young people, they will manage, but I am afraid they will manage somewhere else, in an environment that gives them the opportunity to develop further. That is why we want to draw attention to young people with this event, because they deserve support and more opportunities than they currently have.”
This year’s conference is organized within the project “Democratic and economic empowerment of underdeveloped communities in Tuzla Canton”, which is implemented by the Tuzla Community Foundation with the support of the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ).
