The first Youth Business Camp Adria – Sarajevo, intended for young people aged 15 to 19, will be held in Sarajevo in the period June 27 – July 8. The camp consists of 20 lectures, 8 hours of work with mentors, two excursions and meetings and conversations with a person known for his_her exceptional business success. The camp was created according to the franchise model founded by Danijel Koletic, owner of the multi award-winning agency Apriori World and certified by the World Innovation and Change Management Institute in Geneva.
“Knowledge, socializing, first-hand experience of great lecturers, pushing their own boundaries and stepping into a dynamic business world are the key values that Youth Business Camp Adria Sarajevo will offer young people who want quality opportunities,” said Una Bejtovic, Camp director and director of agency Bejtovic Communications, which is the implementing partner for BiH. It is certain that such projects attract the attention of sponsors and the organizers are proud to point out that as a premium sponsor – Jana, the official leader of YBC Adria Sarajevo, while this project was supported by BH Telecom, NLB Bank, Sinkro.
Topics that will be covered in English are basics of economics, business and finance, project management, start up, intellectual property, public relations, marketing, cultural differences in business, but also some of the current topics related to the digitalization of the modern age such as: digital world, digital currencies and online trading, guidelines for creating websites and businesses. Young people will also have the opportunity to hear more about personal finance management, corporate social responsibility, human capital, and the art of running a company.
“All indicators show not only that young people are leaving BiH, but that the labor market does not have quality staff, and the education system is still not in line with market needs. That is why such a program is a great opportunity for young people to enrich their knowledge and make themselves competitive even in the early phase of their career”, explains Bejtovic.
As she points out, in addition to business skills, lecturers have been carefully selected because new generations must learn something about ethics and integrity as important aspects of their complete professional being, and have a realistic view of their future careers. Through lectures and workshops, Youth Business Camp participants will have the opportunity to find out what these jobs actually look like and perhaps recognize some excess talent in themselves.
“Although we want to focus on knowledge and skills, we cannot but boast but also thank the people who recognized the idea of the Camp and decided to share a piece of their rich knowledge and experience. Parents can know that their children are in safe hands because our lecturers are: Melika Husic Mehmedovic and Maja Arslanagic-Kalajdzic (Faculty of Economics Sarajevo), Amra Hasimbegovic (Global Market Solutions), Vedad Halilovic (AS Holding), Tatjana Vucic (Philanthropic Forum BiH), Aldina Hadzic (Starline Mercedes Benz), Ajla Delic (Wolf Theiss), Armin Ridzalovic (Ernst & Young), Robert Pesic (Publicis Hrvatska), Suzana Tihi-Babic (Addiko Bank), Selma Ridjanovic-Kenovic (UniCredit bank) , Vedran Ticic (ForFive dma)”, points out Bejtovic.
The lectures will be held in the Homework HUB, which already brings together young people, and its founder Mirza Rastoder and successful entrepreneur Edin Mehic will be great mentors who will guide participants through their project tasks until the final presentation to the jury.
The organizers are especially happy that the Ministry of Programming has decided to be a friend of the project, and their lecturers Edin Kulovic, Asim Halilbasic and Dzenan Sljivo will talk about the most current topics in the world of digital business. As part of the study visit, the Camp participants will visit this successful IT company to see what this kind of business looks like “behind the scenes”. Also, Al Jazeera Balkans as one of the most respectable media in the region will open its doors, and participants will get a unique view of how success stories reach the media, but also how the media functions as a business.
“Supporting the Camp is a positive story for children, parents, sponsors, lecturers, for all of us, because we want to give added value to our country, provide young people with opportunity and knowledge, show them that successful businesses and great successful people in Bosnia and Herzegovina side by side with all the world’s colleagues. At the same time, the Camp is being held for the second time in Zagreb, but also in Ljubljana, and soon young people around the world will have the opportunity to develop through this great combination of knowledge and networking!”, said Una Bejtovic, Camp director.
