Associations Artissimo (BiH) and ThinkYoung (Belgium) announce the winter tour of the Western Balkans Youth Orchestra (WBYO).

Associations Artissimo (BiH) and ThinkYoung (Belgium) announce the winter tour of the Western Balkans Youth Orchestra (WBYO): Western Balkans meet Beethoven from January 2 to 9, 2025.

The new year begins with a concert as part of the new Western Balkans Youth Orchestra tour: Fifty-four young artists from 11 countries will perform six concerts in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Kosovo, North Macedonia and Serbia.

The program will include works by Felix Mendelssohn-Bartholdy, Aaron Copland and Ludwig van Beethoven.

All concerts are free, but online booking is recommended.

From January 2 to 9, WBYO will perform in Belgrade (Serbia), Novi Sad (Serbia), Sarajevo (Bosnia and Herzegovina), Mostar (Bosnia and Herzegovina), Pristina (Kosovo) and Skopje (North Macedonia). A concert is planned for the 5th of January at the National Theater in Sarajevo, and for the 6th of January at the National Theater in Mostar.

Founded in 2019, WBYO aims to build a platform for young artists to meet, create and perform together, celebrating and promoting the rich cultural heritage of the Western Balkans and building a vibrant music scene.

“Following our successful summer concert series across the Western Balkans and Germany, I’m excited to celebrate Beethoven’s 255th birthday by performing his 5th Symphony with a new group of talented young musicians and start 2025 with a bang! It will be a special honor for us to perform for the first time in the prestigious Kolarac hall in Belgrade, and in other iconic places such as the National Theater in Sarajevo and the great hall of the Macedonian Philharmonic”, said the artistic director of WBYO, Desar Sulejmani.

All concerts are free and open to all, and donations are welcome, organizers announced.
