The Turkish Coordination and Cooperation Agency (TIKA) today handed over a search and rescue vehicle intended for the Mountain Rescue Service of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
The president of TIKA, Serkan Kayalar, emphasized at the occasion that this is a project of exceptional value, and that it is a donation intended for long-term partners – GSS FBiH.
– It is a service that gathers volunteers in the field of search and rescue with the longest tradition in Bosnia and Herzegovina. We crowned our long-term cooperation with this project. In previous years, we cooperated a lot in the field of training. After that cooperation, we supported the GSS in equipment, and this year we donated a vehicle for search and rescue. This is a significant step towards developing their capacities and abilities – said Kayalar.
He expressed great gratitude to GSS for their contribution and engagement in Turkey after the earthquake that occurred on February 6 this year, “when volunteers, these brave people went to save the lives of our citizens”.
– I hope and I am sure that we will continue our cooperation in the coming period as well – said Kayalar.
During his visit to Bosnia and Herzegovina, the president of the Turkish Coordination and Cooperation Agency (TIKA) will attend the official opening of valuable projects financed by this organization.
Tomorrow is planned the official opening of the project Formation of a system for the digitization of FBiH archives, then the project Donation of technical equipment for the CNC laboratory of the International University in Sarajevo, and the official opening of the Honey Processing and Packaging Factory in Kaćuni in the municipality of Busovača.
On Thursday, August 15, TIKA President Serkan Kayalar will sign the protocol on the implementation of the final phase of the Project to establish the Genocide Museum in Srebrenica at the Srebrenica-Potočari Memorial Center.
