The big spring cleaning action of public areas in the Sarajevo Canton starts on Saturday, April 17, and the company Park will be one of the bearers and leaders of the planned activities.

The action is organized by the Government of Sarajevo Canton, and in addition to the company Park, which will clean and arrange green areas, the company Rad and its teams will arrange areas under their jurisdiction, said the expert associate for PR KJKP “Park” Aldijana Hamza.

She emphasized that the company Park has already developed an Action Plan which will cover as many as 70 locations in seven municipalities.

“The goal is to complete all planned activities in two months, since the cleaning action will last from this weekend until June 19. We clean waste, remove garbage, mow and remove biowaste, plant and arrange flower beds, arranging plants, large trees and other greenery,” Hamza said.

She added that on Saturday morning, the Park team will gather in the Old Town, specifically in the areas near the City Hall where the cleaning will begin, as well as in the At Mejdan Park.

“Within 56 working days, in addition to the areas in the Old Town, numerous areas in the municipality of Centar will be cleaned, then will continue with our work in the area of ​​Novo Sarajevo, Novi Grad, Ilidža, Vogošća and then the area in the municipality of Trnovo , but certainly also in Babin do and Veliko polje on Bjelašnica and Igman”, explained Hamza.

She also pointed out: “The last week of the cleaning action in June is planned to inspect and clean all municipalities and locations covered by the cleaning action. We plan to end the cleaning action with a gathering of all participants on June 19 in Koševo Park I and II.”

Along with all these activities, the Park team in charge of caring for trees from Stari Grad to Vogošća will perform their work in accordance with the decisions of the municipal commissions. One part of the activities involves activities of communal wardens, which will supervise the realization of all planned activities, but also the state of cleanliness after their cleaning.

“Citizens, non-governmental organizations and environmental activists can also take part in the cleaning action, including submitting information to public companies about illegal landfills, as well as about individuals who violate communal cleanliness and improperly dispose waste,” said Hamza.

The Government of the Sarajevo Canton has thus provided a Viber number for citizens who can report illegal landfills by sending a message and a photo of the location. The number is 062/002-244.
