At the recently held 12th meeting of businessmen from the Grude municipality, Ante Bušić, head of the finance and property management department and assistant mayor Ljuba Grizelja, presented the municipality’s impressive economic results for 2023.
In his speech, he highlighted the significant progress of entrepreneurs from Grud, whose results exceeded previous records and positioned the municipality as an economic leader in the West Herzegovina Canton and beyond.
“It’s not easy to stand in front of you every year, but the good fortune is that the results are getting better and better every year,” began Bušić, emphasizing that the data was collected from official sources, including the Federal Bureau of Statistics and Dun & Bradstreet.
At the end of 2023, 198 companies from the Grude municipality submitted their final accounts. By size, among them are 4 large enterprises, 13 medium, 68 small and 113 micro enterprises, Grude.com portal reported.
Bušić highlighted the key indicators:
The total income of the Grud economy amounted to 1.115 billion KM, surpassing last year’s record.
Net profit reached 122 million KM, for the first time exceeding the psychological limit of 100 million KM.
Total business assets amount to 1.091 billion KM.
– We like to compare ourselves, and not without reason. Grud’s share in the canton’s business assets is 21.58 percent, while in the Federation we participate with 1.35 percent. The net profit of the Grud economy is 24 percent of the net profit of the West Herzegovina Canton – explained Bušić.

Grudska predvestije also record exceptional results in exports, which make up more than 30 percent of the total exports of the West Herzegovina Canton. Compared to 2022, exports have grown by 5.5 percent and now account for 21.72 percent of the total income of the Croatian economy.
– The biggest exporters in 2023 were Violeta, Grafotisak, Auctor and Fokus – stressed Bušić, adding that the export results are an additional confirmation of the competitiveness and quality of local companies on international markets.

Bušić thanked the businessmen for their contribution and pointed out that such results show the strength of entrepreneurship and the importance of investing in development. Grude continues to be an example of a successful local community with great economic potential and a vision for the future.
