THE OWNER OF THE COMPANY FROM BIH WOMEN SHORT WORKING HOURS: I WANT THEM TO SPEND MORE TIME WITH THE CHILDREN!

We came up with the idea of giving women the opportunity to spend more time with their children and family, because we can get everything done in seven business hours.

In the casino company CPU, women can say that they celebrate March 8 every day.

Hana Perviz and her five colleagues, instead of eight, work seven hours a day, and for the same salary. They have weekends off, they get benefits and holiday pay.

– I also worked in other companies, often overtime. CPU cannot be compared with any company in Bosnia and Herzegovina. Even that one hour means a lot to me as a woman, mother and wife.

I have a two-year-old baby, I have more time to devote to the child. To some, an hour means little, to us it means a lot – says Bišćanska Hana Perviz, an employee of CPU, who sells IT equipment.

– Being enough with children and family, balancing other numerous obligations and keeping a job at the same time is more than a difficult task for a woman. Now I have more time and it’s easier to juggle between all my obligations – a story for  Avaz  Emin.

The possibility to reduce working hours from 40 to 35 hours per week, and for the same profit, has not been offered by anyone in BiH so far. It is an arbitrary decision of the private citizen of Cazin Dženan Kapić. He says that the benefit is mutual, both for the company and for the employees.

– Every company today is faced with the departure of the workforce. Not a single employee has left us yet, neither from the company nor across the border. We came up with the idea of giving women the opportunity to spend more time with their children and family, because we can get everything done in seven business hours. Women, on the other hand, have a lot of responsibilities. My wife works in another company and often stays longer at work, which affects the quality of family life. Unfortunately, I cannot influence other employers and their decisions, but we can use our positive example to encourage them to do the same. To at least try to make it easier as much as possible – says Kapić.

All employees have the same treatment. In addition to fewer working hours for women, all workers have two days off per week, holiday pay, annual leave prescribed by law.
