During the regular meeting of the coordination body for the development of local youth policy in the Municipality of Vlasenica, the results of the research on the position and needs of youth were presented. During the meeting, members of the coordination body and working groups discussed the issues highlighted by the young people through the research.
The Institute for Youth Development KULT, with the support of the International Organization for Migration (IOM) and the Bosnia & Herzegovina Resilience Initiative (BHRI), conducted research with the aim to analyze the problems and needs of young people in Vlasenica, following the needs of the Municipality of Vlasenica.
350 people between the ages of 15 and 30 living in the Municipality of Vlasenica participated in the survey by using a random sample method.
Young people answered almost 200 questions in the following areas:
- youth education and science,
- youth work, employment and entrepreneurship,
- youth social care,
- youth health care,
- culture and sports,
- activism (participation, volunteering, mobility, migration) of youth,
- youth mobility,
- informing young people,
- free time,
- youth identity,
- youth safety,
- the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on youth.
In the forthcoming period, the coordinating body and working groups will propose measures and activities through which the local youth policy for the period 2022-2026 will be implemented.
Youth policy is adopted at the level of the Republika Srpska and local self-government units for a period of five years. Based on the adopted youth policy, the Republila Srpska and local self-government units will adopt an action plan for the implementation of youth policy for a period of one year. The action plan for the implementation of youth policy is adopted within 30 days from the day of the adoption of the budget for the year for which the action plan is adopted. The youth policy and the action plan for the implementation of the youth policy for the area of the local self-government unit are adopted by the assembly of the local self-government unit at the proposal of the competent body of the local self-government unit and the youth commission.
