The calm and somewhat depressing Sunday was made completely different by the news from the European marathon championship in Viborg, Denmark, where the best BiH. cyclist Lejla Njemčević won the silver medal.

This is the biggest success of Bosnia and Herzegovina. of cycling and the first medal for Bosnia and Herzegovina at the European championships in history.

On the 85-kilometer track, Njemčević sprinted to the finish line after Roza van Durn from the Netherlands, three seconds before the Italian Claudia Peretti.

In her first message after coming off the podium, Lejla expressed her pride and joy.

“We have a constant season, we constantly win podiums, so I am happy that now we have the World Championship and the last World Cup, both in America ,” said Njemčević.

This year, Njemčević won the 21st title of BiH, she recently took second place at the most popular race in Sweden – Cyklovasan, and the last race of the World Cup in the USA is expected, where the overall winner of the World Series will be decided.

Lejla is currently in a leadership position.

Lejla Njemčević was born on June 19, 1994 in Udine. He competes in the categories of mountain and road cycling. She started practicing this sport at the age of 15 in the Mountain Biking Club “Plus”.
