The FBiH Association of Psychologists offers psychological help: Floods can cause profound psychosocial and mental health consequences

In response to recent catastrophic events, the Association of Psychologists in the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina formed specialized teams to provide psychosocial support to citizens affected by floods and landslides. These teams will provide support through field interventions, telephone and online help and advice.

“We invite all people affected by the floods who want psychological help to fill out the contact form at  www.pomocnakonpoplava.com,  after which we will provide them with the contact of an expert in the field of mental health or to call the number +387 60 30 54 991″ , announced the Society of Psychologists. FBiH.

They emphasize that in these difficult times, it is important to seek help and talk about mental health.

“Our contact form allows you to quickly and easily request help, and we will connect you with one of over 40 mental health experts, members of the Society of Psychologists in the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, who provide free psychological help and support. Flooding can cause profound psychosocial and mental health consequences that persist long after the waters have receded. People affected by floods face trauma, anxiety and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), and people from marginalized communities who have less access to resources for recovery are especially at risk ,” they add.

They also invite all relevant actors from competent institutions to contact the Society of Psychologists of the FBiH via the contact phone number +387 60 30 54 991 or email info@dpfbih.ba for the coordinated organization of field visits to the affected areas.
