Students from Banja Luka won the prestigious Butterfly Innovation Award

Students from Banja Luka, Daniel Menićanin, Jelena Radanović and Nikola Račić, achieved remarkable success by winning the prestigious Butterfly Innovation Award in the Youth category and were declared the winning team from Bosnia and Herzegovina. This award, presented by the Regional Cooperation Council (RCC), recognizes the most innovative youth projects from six Western Balkan countries.

Their team, PressCoders, impressed the international jury from the European Union with their innovation – PressBrake Software – a customizable software that automates outdated hydraulic presses in the metal industry. This software significantly improves the efficiency and productivity of industrial operations, providing a modern technological solution that contributes to digitalization and sustainable development.

-This award is not only a confirmation of our work, but also a motivation to continue creating innovative solutions that advance the industry and improve people’s lives. This is a moment that shows that it is possible to overcome all obstacles with teamwork, faith in the idea and support of the community – stated these young people from Banja Luka and added that this award is not only a reward for their team, but also for all those who support them.

They pointed out that they are proud to have shown that young people from Bosnia and Herzegovina can make huge changes at the regional level.

Namely, this competition is part of the third Regional Butterfly Innovation Forum, held in Podgorica, and brought together leading leaders in the fields of innovation, research and policy. This year, as many as 87 projects were submitted, and the participation of women was particularly commended, who made up 52% ​​of individual applications and 45% of team members.
