Bh. photographer Boris Trogrančić on his photographic journey often bypasses the area of central Bosnia and Herzegovina, which is actually full of wonderful scenes, natural beauty and cultural heritage.
This time he recorded wonderful photos of the National Monument of BiH Smrika near Novi Travnik.
The monument was built in 1975 according to the design of the famous architect Bogdan Bogdanović, and is a memorial to the victims of fascism from World War II.
The monument consists of 12 two-meter high sculptures, which symbolize guardians. It is located not far from Novi Travnik, on a vast plateau.
“I was greeted by the sun from the west on an October day, and I am really delighted that the location is actually very beautiful, although a little isolated ,” says Boris.
The necropolis of the victims of fascism in Novi Travnik is one of the twenty-one monuments designed by Bogdan Bogdanović in the territory of the former Yugoslavia. The most famous among them are certainly the Jasenovac flower and the partisan cemetery in Mostar.
Smrika Necropolis was declared a national monument of Bosnia and Herzegovina
