Today, a press conference was organized by the Office for the fight against corruption and the Ministry of Economy of Sarajevo Canton on the occasion of the establishment of the Register of Small Business Development Incentives and the Register of Beneficiaries of Agricultural Incentives.
“Today is a very important day in the fight against corruption in Sarajevo,” said Erduan Kafedžić, a representative of the Sarajevo Canton Office for the fight against corruption.
Kafedžić points out that on the initiative of this Office, two registers – register on incentives for the development of small businesses and register for beneficiaries of incentives in agriculture were established.
“This has been a protected area so far. In 2021 alone, more than 13 million BAM will be allocated through the register. I invite you to use registers in analysis and research. We shed light in a very dark space with a lot of risks,” said Kafedžić.
Adnan Delić, Minister of Economy of Sarajevo Canton, also addressed the audience, and primarily thanked the Office for the fight against corruption.
“In the Ministry, we have two items that are legally regulated and concern the incentives themselves. These are incentives that are awarded each year. This year, these funds are more important than ever. Incentives for small businesses this year are more than eight million BAM, and incentives for agriculture more than six million BAM. We have therefore embraced this initiative to create an infrastructure that is accessible to the public to see where the money is being spent. That will improve our processes, when it comes to different analyses and research“, said Delić.
Delić added that all incentives will be in online form.
“All calls and incentive will be added to this register. 198 cases have been already added, 46 when it comes to small business incentives. The goal is to continue with transparency, and restore trust in institutions. We have all witnessed that trust has been shaken and that is why we have a small number of applications for incentives. This will also allow for an analysis of incentives and solutions. I can also announce that an online platform will be established for the purpose of transparency of our work, and prevention of corruption,” said Delić.
He explained that all incentives, incentive amounts and users will be available in the register, as well as model names.
Registers are already available on the Office’s website with information for 2020. Information for 2021 will be added.
