Regional artists and designers call for help with illustrations: Bridges made by human hands

Regional artists and designers supported the people affected by the floods in Bosnia and Herzegovina with their illustrations, while inviting others to contribute.

Starting from Midhat Kapetanović, through Andrijana Vešović Zombijana, Tee Jagodić to Una Aginčić – they shared their illustrations on social networks to support those who died in the tragedy, and at the same time called for help.

“People, I think we are all now aware of what is happening in BiH and this is truly the most important humanitarian call you will make today for your country. And every day after that,” said Tea with her illustration.

She also stated that anyone who was not on the field after the floods in May 2014 – is not aware of how big a disaster this is.

Kapetanović, in his own style, illustrated Vuček, Zagi and Pobednik as they make their way through the torrent together, reminding us that “the whole of Bosnia, Herzegovina and the region in Jablanica is building bridges with human hands”.

This was followed by another illustration in which the same three figures are repairing a bridge with the message: “In the history of the human race, no non-human has ever thought of building a bridge. Thank you to the neighbors, sisters, brothers and all those who know that a human tear can muddy the water the most.”

Una Aginčić’s illustration of a man waiting on the roof of a house in a flood reminds us of a humanitarian number, and Zombija did the same with an illustration of a broken heart in the colors of the BiH flag in a flood.
