The Prometheus Scholarship Fund was established in August 2017 by a group of young people at the beginning of their careers, who chose to invest their philanthropic resources in true strength and potential, to invest in young people and their education. The project aims to support as many young students from Bosnia and Herzegovina as possible, to be educated and to be the initiators of positive changes in our country.
The goal of the project
We want to support as many young students from Bosnia and Herzegovina as possible to educate themselves and be drivers of positive change in our country. Our scholarship holders are active in their community, ready to promote the values of civil liberties, democracy, anti-fascism and solidarity. We want the funds in the Prometheus Fund to be higher every year so that we can distribute as many scholarships as possible. Join us! We want to increase the number of co-founders and donors of the Prometheus Fund, which you can become by donating a minimum amount of 660 BAM for one year. Challenge
Young people in Bosnia and Herzegovina face great challenges during their studies. Costs for books, accommodation, and food can be very high, and the funds they receive from parents or that they can earn from occasional seasonal jobs are modest and often insufficient. In the academic year 2020/2021, 7,200 BAM were distributed for the award of 4 scholarships. Help us to increase the funds in the Fund and help us to provide more scholarships for our students in the next academic year!
Scholarships will be awarded to second- and senior-year undergraduate students at the University of Tuzla, young citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina aged 19 to 25, who are motivated to be active in the community and who are willing to promote the values of civil liberties, democracy, anti-fascism and solidarity.
The purpose of the Fund is to support young people in their efforts to educate themselves, to be active members of the community, and ultimately to be the leaders of the development and emancipation of Bosnian society. When awarding scholarships, the Tuzla Community Foundation takes into account the economic status of the student, as well as the success during the studies. The monthly amount of the scholarship is 150 BAM, and it is paid to our scholarship holders for a full 12 months. Long-term impact/results
For the fourth year in a row, the Tuzla Community Foundation has been promoting positive values in a society in which active young people are true heroes of the community, those who learn and develop skills every day to create the future of the country according to their needs. During the past three years, more than 25 thousand BAM have been collected through the “Prometheus” Fund.
Our long-term goal is to expand the circle of donors and provide funds for as many scholarships as possible. Join us! We need support in order to achieve the goals of young people in Bosnia and Herzegovina, otherwise the initiators of social change and the greatest potential of a society and state.
