Prnjavor: More than five tons of fish died in “Ribnjak”, an ecological catastrophe is imminent

More than five tons of fish died in Prnjavor’s “Ribnjak” due to high temperatures and clogged canals. If the damage is not repaired soon, the ecological catastrophe threatens this and the surrounding local communities, because the smell will spread to Banja Luka and Brod.

Tons of dead carp, perch and silver carp in the “Ribnjak”, which has been in bankruptcy for more than a year, have already been attacked by flocks of birds. If birds and wild animals continue to spread dead fish, the infection could spread.

After the local inspection which established the death of the fish, the arrival of republic inspectors and investigators is expected in Prnjavor, the media report.
