Preservation of the cultural and historical heritage: Tito’s train monument in Oštrelje was arranged

The Municipality of Bosanski Petrovac has completed the implementation of the project “Preservation and improvement of the national monument Tit’s train”, which included a series of works, including the lighting of the public area next to Tit’s train, cleaning the area, painting the locomotive and wagons, and the installation of benches, canopy, garbage baskets and fences .

Funds for the implementation of this project were provided by the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sports of the Una-Sana Canton, the Municipality of Bosanski Petrovac, while the SPD “Unsko-Sanska šume” doo Bosanska Krupa made a canopy with benches for sitting.

These activities are part of a wider effort to preserve and revitalize the cultural and historical heritage of Bosanski Petrovac and the Una-Sana Canton.

Oštrelj Pass, where Tito’s train is located, is located on the border between two mountains – Osječenica and Klekovača, which are rich in forest and natural beauty.

This area is known as an air spa and climatic resort due to the high concentration of ozone, and is recognized as one of the largest climatic centers in Europe.

Oštrelj is a popular destination for hiking, excursions and hunting, which is the reason why this area additionally attracts nature and history lovers.

The project of preserving and arranging Tito’s train has a significant role in strengthening the tourist offer of this region, but also in preserving the memory of a historical era.
