Porsche Sarajevo, recognized as a socially responsible company, has been providing significant support to the Sumero Association for years, an organization that advocates for the prevention of institutionalization and ensuring a dignified life for people with intellectual disabilities in the local community. This multi-year cooperation is reflected in continuous support through various activities and improvement of resources that enable better conditions for work and integration of people with disabilities. A particularly significant step in this cooperation was the entry of Porsche Sarajevo on the Person platform, a business community that gathers international and domestic donors with a unique goal – to support the deinstitutionalization process in Bosnia and Herzegovina. Through this platform, Porsche Sarajevo actively contributes to spreading awareness about the importance of inclusion and creating a society that ensures equal opportunities for everyone. Their dedication to this mission further strengthens the work of the Sumero Alliance in its efforts to enable people with intellectual disabilities to live in the community, instead of in institutions.
“The partnership with the company Porsche Sarajevo through the Person platform represents a big step forward for our work,” said Haris Haverić, director of the Sumero Association, emphasizing the importance of this support in strengthening the organization’s capacity and expanding its mission.
As a special symbol of this friendship, the “Friendship Bench” was presented, which was installed today in the Sumero Center. This bench promotes equal chances and opportunities for all, symbolizing a long-standing partnership and a shared mission of inclusion.
In addition, employees of Porsche Sarajevo participated in education on the topic of mental health, where they had the opportunity to learn about the importance of mental health and management in stressful situations. They also visited a greenhouse and greenhouse where they learned about the ecological production of herbs, micro-vegetables and edible flowers carried out by the social enterprise Greens. Greens employs people with disabilities, enabling them to acquire skills that help them find employment and ensure better living conditions.
Porsche Sarajevo announced the continuation of its support to the Sumero Association, especially in the segment that actively supports the inclusion and employment of people with disabilities. “Inclusion and support for vulnerable groups is not only a social responsibility, but also the foundation for building a sustainable future,” it was pointed out during today’s ceremony at the Sumero Center.
Porsche Sarajevo and Sumero continue their mission of building a society where all people are equal and have the opportunity for a dignified life.
