PHOTO: Bunica – a natural phenomenon of Herzegovinian karst

We bring photos of the source of the river Bunica, which is six kilometers long, while its source is considered one of the deepest in Europe (about 69 meters).

Bunica is certainly one of the lifeblood when it comes to the biodiversity of this part of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Unfortunately, the construction of a system of tunnels and hydroelectric power plants as part of the controversial Gornji horizonti project, i.e. the transfer of water from the Neretva basin to the Trebišnjica basin, could greatly reduce the capacity of the sources of Buna, Bunica, Krupa and Bregava.
