The story of Merima is the story of those who give up, but not the wishes that come true. Merima Habibović is a young entrepreneur with a restless spirit who started her first business at the age of twenty-four, and then gave up. But she did not give up her crazy idea and desire to be an entrepreneur. Merima found support and succeeded. Today, she is an entrepreneur with two selfie museums and a story that shows that you can do the same.
Fail but continue 👏
Young woman with the golden badge of the University and the double master’s degree decided to invest three acquired university diplomas in her own, and not someone else’s idea and work. After finishing her studies, she founded the Institution for social protection of the elderly and ill people. At that time, Merima did not have mentoring and financial support, and due to a series of unfortunate and difficult private circumstances, she soon took a break from her entrepreneurial path. That didn’t stop her from dreaming, searching and securing support for her next, this time crazy idea.
The founder of a unique business idea, synonymous of energy and attitude, contacted the Mozaik Foundation with the desire to establish a business and she succeeded. Thanks to the Youth Bank’s micro-business grant, she opened her first Selfie Museum in Travnik, and then, with the support of the Mozaik Foundation’s Startup Studio, managed to expand her business from Travnik to Sarajevo in six months and establish Lantia d.o.o. Her second Selfie Museum is a continuation of a business project that strengthens the tourist offer of Bosnian cities and exudes creativity and fun.
The Mozaik Foundation has helped me immensely in achieving all my goals and to expand our business to the capital of Bosnia and Herzegovina. We now operate in Travnik and Sarajevo and are becoming a well-known brand. It is much easier to work when you have someone you can rely on and who will support you in every situation you find yourself in, said Merima.
Due to the support that she received from non-governmental and governmental organizations, Merima thinks that Bosnia and Herzegovina is an ideal country for young entrepreneurs.
My wishes are coming true ✨
Following the world trends where museums of modern art are a hit in the world, Merima decided to start in Travnik, city visited by tourists and one of the most beautiful cities in Bosnia and Herzegovina. A place where no photo is boring, a place where today, visitors of all generations have fun and leave smiling – first Selfie Museum in Bosnia and Herzegovina. They take great photos in a big Barbie house, in a tub filled with dollars, pearl pools or with giant cakes and flower swings – installations by our Merima who says:
All our visitors visit us to feel better and, in addition to good photos, they have wonderful memories, of which we are part. I can show all my creativity through this work and I am glad that people are delighted with the installations that I created.
