Today, the Municipality of Konjic was visited by the Federal Minister of Agriculture, Water Management and Forestry Semsudin Dedic and his associates, where he met with the Mayor of Konjic Osman Catic.
Since the Municipality of Konjic signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Office for Coordination of Projects – PCU at the Federal Ministry of Agriculture, Water Management and Forestry, today an evaluation of projects was made, which the Municipality of Konjic applied to IFAD.
During the visit, Minister Dedic visited the agricultural farm of Dzevad Maksumic, who has been successfully engaged in cattle breeding and agriculture for more than two decades, and whose sons Sedin and Seid registered a business four years ago, thus securing employment.
-These young people are a real example that young people in our rural areas can earn income for themselves and their families through agriculture. We have increased the budget for agriculture and we are happy to see satisfied agricultural producers in the field. We believe that through greater support for agriculture, through IFAD projects, support from cantons and municipalities, we will facilitate the work of agricultural producers, make agriculture sustainable and thus strengthen food production in our country every day – said Minister Semsudin Dedic.
Mayor Catic thanked Minister Dedic for the visit and the support provided by the Government of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina to farmers in the Konjic area.
– With today’s visit we wanted to draw attention to young people and invite young people in the countryside to use all the incentives offered from state, federal, cantonal, municipal, to work, produce and succeed in their homeland and hometown Konjic – said Mayor Ćatić.
– Our family of five lives exclusively from livestock and agriculture, and since we realized that everything we produce can be sold immediately, we decided to constantly expand and produce many products on our farm, so every kind of support means a lot to us. We heard from Minister Dedić that the amount of incentives for 2022 has been significantly increased, which makes us especially happy and gives us the strength to continue at the same and stronger pace in the future – said Sedin Maksumić, thanking for the visit and the opportunity to exchange information with the Minister and to find out more about the needs of young agricultural producers in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
