Today, trucks and machines of construction companies GPI from Konjic and Amite from Mostar, which were heading towards Buturović Polje, started construction works on a small hydroelectric power plant (SHPP) on the Neretvica river. The start of construction was stopped with hundreds of locals residing in this area, reports Anadolu Agency (AA).
Earlier, they announced a traffic blockade at this location, deciding, as they say, to prevent the beginning of the construction of a mini hydroelectric power plant with their lives. The atmosphere among the locals is great, there is no tension, songs and sounds of the accordion can be heard one after the other.
Today, members of the popular BiH band “Dubioza kolektiv” joined the citizens, which further improved the mood.
At the moment, it is planned to build 15 SHPP on the Neretvica river, which has long been opposed by the local population.
