Lactalis BH donated products to public kitchens in BH

Lactalis BH shows its commitment to socially responsible projects by participating in initiatives aimed at improving the well-being of vulnerable categories of society.

One of the activities is a donation organized on the occasion of World Food Loss and Waste Awareness Day.  Lactalis BH  on the occasion of 29.9. donated its products to public kitchens in three cities of Bosnia and Herzegovina. It is about the public kitchen  of the Association Pomozi.ba  in Sarajevo, the public kitchen  of the Association “Mosaik of Friendship”  in Banja Luka and  the Association “Together for our City” in Mostar .

The strategic commitment of Lactalis BH is actions and active support of projects aimed at improving the quality of life of the community. At the beginning of this year, the company joined the “Gram by gram for tons of solidarity” campaign, which was organized as part of the “No one hungry, no one alone” campaign, whose goal was to abolish VAT on donated food as a measure to prevent food destruction and provide humanitarian aid. free of charge.

“We are proud to point out that we are among the first to advocate the Law on the abolition of VAT on donated food, aware that socially vulnerable individuals and families are often without access to food as a basic necessity of life. On World Food Loss and Waste Awareness Day, we want to remind you of the importance of adopting this law, which is in line with the sustainable development goals of the United Nations and foresees a 50% reduction in food waste by 2030,” said Ina Škrbić, marketing director of Lactalis. BH added: “In addition to everything we do for the well-being of our people in the company, we want to remain committed to the most vulnerable in our community who have to rely on a sensitized society and the economy for help and support.” This donation is not only material aid, but also a symbol of solidarity and care for the most vulnerable members of our community”, she emphasized.

According to data from Eurostat (Statistical Office of the European Communities), about 23% of the population lives at risk of poverty or social exclusion, while at the same time about 90 million tons of food is thrown away annually. The United Nations, which initiated the celebration of this date, warns that one third of the food, about 1.3 billion tons, produced annually in the world for human consumption is lost or wasted.

The company Lactalis BH continues to take care of the high quality standards of its products and care for the environment, and to help the local community, especially vulnerable groups and young people.

Lactalis BH products are produced at the Inmer dairy in Gradačac, from milk purchased from 1,400 subcontractors – local farmers. The company Lactalis was founded 90 years ago in France and is known here for its brands Dukat, Domače blago, Président, Galbani, Stay Strong, Alpine milk and Parmalat, which it produces or distributes on the market of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
