Japanese Award for Outstanding Research on Development (ORD) 2021

The Global Development Network (GDN) has published the Call for Proposals for the Japanese Award for Outstanding Research on Development (ORD) for 2021, funded by the Ministry of Finance of the Government of Japan.

The award focuses on projects that are currently being implemented and that affect highly marginalized and disadvantaged groups located in developing countries.

Thematic areas are:

  • Universal health insurance and COVID-19;
  • Community-oriented disaster risk reduction in rural areas and
  • Quality urban infrastructure, community management and leadership.

Non-profit non-governmental organizations and civil society organizations are eligible apply for this Call.

For each of the thematic areas, the winning projects will receive grants worth $ 45,000. Nine grants worth $ 135,000 will be awarded for the “Most Innovative Development Project” category.

The deadline for submission is June 9, 2021.
