The youngest residents of Vares got a new place to play thanks to the joint efforts of the IT company Atlantbh and the humanitarian organization Pomozi.ba.
The playground in front of the Public Institution “Children’s Kindergarten Vares” has been unusable for years due to worn-out and damaged infrastructure. As a result, the children did not have adequate space to play outside, so they often spent time inside the kindergarten.
New swings, a slide, seesaws, a sandbox, and a rubber mat have been installed on the playground to achieve the highest level of safety for children. In addition to the playground, a part of the facade of the kindergarten building was renovated, which is decorated with a special visual. Yesterday, on the official opening of the playground, Pomozi.ba and Atlantbh employees, together with children, painted the access road to the playground and planted flowers.
“Atlantbh is one of the first IT companies to start operating in Bosnia and Herzegovina. In the past 22 years, we have achieved numerous successes working with some of the world’s largest companies, but also the best local IT experts. At the same time, we try to be actively involved and, through various projects, contribute to the development of the local community in which we operate. So, for the celebration of the 22nd birthday, we decided to donate a playground to the youngest residents of the Vares municipality. We are happy that we had the opportunity to cooperate with Pomozi.ba and provide children with a safe place to play. In addition, I am proud of the Atlantbh team who took the time to volunteer, spend the day with the children in Vares and work together on arranging the park,” said Milad Cerkic, CEO of Atlantbh.
The Pomozi.ba Association points out that they are very pleased that they managed to realize this project in the Vares municipality. Investments in this municipality are rare, and the need for different types of infrastructure projects that are the basis for improving the living standards of the population is great.
“Atlantbh addressed us with the idea of doing something useful for the community with their financial help, and especially for children. Considering that we have many users in Vares and we know the situation in that Municipality well, we suggested that we give this local community, which lacks such public areas, a new place where the youngest can grow up carefree. We are grateful to the company Atlantbh for choosing us as a partner in this action and we are happy that another success story is behind us, which will surely elicit hundreds of sincere smiles”, states the Association Pomozi.ba.
How much the new playground means to the children from Vares is emphasized by the acting Director of the Public Institution “Children’s Kindergarten Vares” Enisa Musa-Cernic.
” Public Institution “Children’s Kindergarten Vares” has been facing various difficulties in its work and functioning for many years, since its reopening – the post-war period until today has always been a kind of challenge for the survival and functioning of the institution itself. Investments have been minimal for years, and the infrastructure of the facility, the maintenance of the institution as well as the children’s playground itself were in a terrible state. Outdated infrastructure, seesaws, swings as the terrain itself, which is quite uneven, were a source of danger, not joy for our children. The condition of the children’s playground was so critical that lately we were not allowed to use it, so the children’s stay in the open air was reduced to walking around the city, going to the kindergarten terrace and going to the public park. The project of reconstruction of our playground is something that we needed as a priority for the institution, for the children and their safe stay outdoors. I am very happy because of that and because of the cooperation we have achieved with the organization Pomozi.ba. We are grateful to them for taking on the complete realization of the project, from finding investors, architectural designs and proposals and ideas for the best solution for the yard, to the final realization, which is a big job. Everything is done with quality, we are satisfied, and our children can hardly wait to enjoy the yard again and stay outdoors without fear. I am also grateful to the main investor, Atlantbh who recognized the importance of the entire project for our children and our city, given that our kindergarten and the only institution in the city of Vares is intended for preschool children,” said Enisa Musa-Cernic.
