Years pass, but the love between Bajaga and Sarajevo persists.
Years pass, but the love between Bajaga and Sarajevo persists.
In an interview with BALKAN FACTS , Momčilo Bajagić enthusiastically announces the first concert in 2025.
On the square across from the Sarajevo Assembly, on January 3rd (8 pm, free admission), the legend of the Yugoslav rock scene will perform with his band as part of the anniversary tour “We Only Need Love”, marking 40 years of work.
The frontman of one of the most successful bands in the region says for this portal:
“Given that we owe the people of Sarajevo a concert as part of the band’s 40th anniversary celebration, here is the ideal opportunity to celebrate the start of the new year on January 3rd. We immediately responded positively to the organizers’ invitation and are eagerly awaiting the performance in the city where we have played many times.”
Memories come flooding in, without asking…
“It’s phenomenal to return to the place where you started your career in a way. Numerous concerts at “Skenderija”, “Zetra” are part of the band’s growth. We especially loved Dom Mladih, that iconic place. After all, that’s where the Sarajevo rock school was born. We played for the first time in Sarajevo at Dom Mladih, I think it was around 1984. In the meantime, since the 2000s, we’ve played about a dozen more times in Sarajevo and there’s always been a positive energy. We’ll be performing the band’s biggest hits, we promise a good gig and a good time.”
For example, this is how it was in 2019 in Sarajevo:
Bajaga says that the band is preparing for a two, two and a half hour performance at the Sarajevo concert.
“We have a lot of friends in Sarajevo, a large number of people who listen to us and support us. As always, we will find time to take a walk around the city, to go to some good restaurants that Sarajevo is famous for. Of course, a visit to Baščaršija is a must, and since we are there, there will be no chance of not trying the famous and delicious ćevapi,” Momčilo Bajagić says with a smile.
At the end of November 2024, Bajaga and his band performed in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
“It was part of the humanitarian concert “Nismo sami”, from which all proceeds were intended for the victims of the catastrophic floods that hit Bosnia and Herzegovina. We were joined by the Blue Orchestra, Džiboni and Halid Bešlić.”
