As part of the “Bridges of Friendship of Elementary Schools of the City of Mostar” project, supported by the German Embassy, another education was organized on October 31, which aims to connect young people through joint environmental and cultural activities.
For years, this project has contributed to connecting students through joint activities that emphasize the importance of the natural beauty and biodiversity of our region.
Getting to know the symbols of the Herzegovina region
At this event, students of primary schools JU Osnovna škola Vrapčići and JU Osnovna škola Ilija Jakovljević Mostar, with the coordination of the Novi Val Youth Club, had the opportunity to participate in a series of unique workshops aimed at getting to know Herzegovina’s donkeys and the griffon vulture, two recognizable symbols of the Herzegovina region.
Through the guided activities, the students not only expanded their knowledge about these animals, but also got the opportunity to learn firsthand about the challenges of preserving these endangered species and the importance of their protection in the natural environment.
An important step towards building lasting ties between young generations
The “Bridges of Friendship” project has multiple significance for the development of young generations in Mostar. In addition to developing environmental awareness through nature education, the project enables students to build mutual trust and friendship through joint activities, regardless of national and cultural affiliation. In addition to environmental topics, education includes creative activities, games, and team tasks that help students better understand the value of community and cooperation.
The ultimate goal of the project is to promote long-term exchange and cooperation between elementary schools in the City of Mostar, building the foundations for a society that fosters intercultural understanding and solidarity. With such activities, Mostar becomes a symbol of connection and mutual support, and this project represents an important step towards building permanent ties between young generations of different schools and communities in the City of Mostar.
