World Vision Bosnia and Herzegovina, in cooperation with the Embassy of the Federal Republic of Germany, provided mechanization, tools and agricultural equipment for 57 socially vulnerable families from the municipalities of Breza, Goražde Ilijaš, Istočna Ilidža, Istočno Novo Sarajevo, Pale and Prača. The equipment was delivered to families without, or with minimal, regular income.
Families in need received various types of machinery or tools, such as motor cultivators, self-propelled mowers, chainsaws, various woodworking tools, aluminum welding machines, and 50m2 greenhouses with an irrigation system.
“This type of support will enable supported families to cultivate their own agricultural land, generate additional income through the sale of goods and services generated by donated tools-mechanization, as well as the production of healthy vegetables through greenhouse production,” said Svjetlana Tanić-Batinić from World Vision Bosnia and Herzegovina.
World Vision Bosnia and Herzegovina is continuously working on the economic empowerment of families in need, and in the past two years has provided tools, equipment and machinery for more than 700 vulnerable families.
“Our intention is to enable these families to provide the basic household budget and the purchase of basic necessities with their own work,” said Tanić-Batinić.
