Džeko, Nurkić, Željezničar, Stupčanica, J Academy, GFC Sarajevo in the service of humanity

(Sarajevo, December 22, 2021) In the past few months, the Pomozi.ba Association has been working intensively on establishing cooperation with athletes and sports teams in Bosnia and Herzegovina. Many of our athletes, over the past years, have gladly responded to the humanitarian actions that have launched, and countless times the clubs themselves have made humanitarian actions to help sick and ill Bosnia and Herzegovina citizens.

Since September 1, we have been working intensively on several projects, of which the largest is certainly “Mister in a Humane Mission”, which we realized together with FC Željezničar, marking the 100th anniversary of the Blue Club. It was a fantastic experience to watch more than 100 boys and girls in the match against the first team of Željezničar, from where everyone carries fond memories. What is more important than that is the fact that we collected more than 40,000 BAM for the medical treatment of sick and ill Bosnia and Herzegovina citizens.

The captain of the BiH national football team, Edin Džeko, also donated the signed jersey of Inter for the humanitarian auction, and in the end, that jersey was sold for 10,000 BAM.

The City Football Club Sarajevo joined the action of fundraising for the medical treatment fund, when it comes to sports teams, by donating ticket income, as well as the champion of the Second League Center – FC Stupčanica. The Željezničar Football Club donated ticket income from their matches, FC which is currently competing in the First League of the Federation of BiH. In two home games, the fans of FC Željezničar, by purchasing a donor ticket in the amount of 2 BAM. More than 1,300 BAM was collected and donated to the fund.

The action was joined by the J Academy Football School, which has more than 100 boys.

Few days ago, the Academy organized humanitarian New Year’s games for children and parents, called “New Year’s gifts for all”. Boys and girls from this football school, together with their parents and coaches, played table tennis, football in pairs, ran on the sports field, enjoyed desserts. And above all, they donated gifts and money for the Fund for the Medical Treatment of the Sick and Ill Bosnia and Herzegovina citizens. Parents and boys, together with their coaches and numerous sponsors, raised a total of 1,583 BAM, which they donated to our Association. The motto of “J Academy” is “We educate people, and only then football players”, and this humanitarian action, which they organized, is an indicator of their success, announcing that they will organize similar actions in the future.

One of the best Bosnia and Herzegovina athlete Amel Tuka contributed to the medical treatment fund with a symbolic monetary donation. By the end of 2021, the plan is to sign a Memorandum of Cooperation with the Union of Professional Footballers in BiH, as well as with several other sports teams.

The Pomozi.ba Association would like to thank all athletes, individuals, sports teams, Associations, who took part in sports and humanitarian activities during this year, with the hope that cooperation will continue in 2022, in which our Association celebrates 10 years of existence.
