The event “Film Day for Young Audiences” also marks the “Month of European Film 2024”, when young people aged 12 to 19 will gather in cinemas across Europe, and the film “Scrapper” will be shown in European cinemas in 30 countries.
The Sarajevo Film Festival and the Meeting Point cinema in Sarajevo are partners of the European Film Academy again this year.
The screening will be followed by a live chat via stream, along with various activities in the cinemas, including the Meeting Point cinema. The conversation will be led by young members of the European Film Club from Luzern, Switzerland, and will be broadcast live in cities across Europe.
The day will culminate in the announcement of the three nominated films for the 2024 European Young Audience Award, with an open call for young people aged 12 to 19 to apply to join the jury of 99 young people who will choose the winner.
The European Young Audience Award has been an official category of European film awards since 2012. The committee of young filmmakers and professionals nominates three films, and the jury of the participants of the “Day of Film for Young Audiences” votes for the winner.
“Film Day for Young Audiences” is a special event dedicated to the celebration of youth and cinema across the continent at the beginning of the “Month of European Film”, and project partners of the European Film Academy in Bosnia and Herzegovina have been the Sarajevo Film Festival and the Meeting Point cinema for years.
