On December 15, 2021, the Institute for Youth Development KULT was, at the invitation of the Commission for Youth Affairs of the House of Representatives of the Parliament of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina participated in the regular session of this commission to consider the continuation of cooperation between the two organizations.
The Commission was presented with the programs and results of research on the position and needs of young people conducted by the Institute, as well as potential joint activities aimed at creating better opportunities for young people. As the representatives of the Institute pointed out, cooperation with the current convocation of the Commission is especially necessary in the field of implementation of the Law on Youth, creating better opportunities for youth and the youth sector in Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
It was concluded that the Commission will continue to cooperate with the Institute for Youth Development KULT in order to create opportunities for young people and improve the implementation of the FBiH Youth Law. The participants in the meeting agreed that cross-sectoral cooperation in the field of youth is extremely important in creating opportunities to see young people as a resource in society that contributes to the development of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
In the coming period, the Commission, Institute and Youth Council of Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina will have joint activities aimed at decision makers, civil society and youth in order to update youth issues and put them in the focus of public interest. According to the Law on Youth, the Youth Commission of the House of Representatives of the FBiH Parliament consists of parliamentarians and at least one member from the FBiH Youth Council. This body of the Parliament has recently been operating in its full composition and is dealing with youth issues in accordance with the established competencies.
In the following period, as well as in the previous convocations of the Commission, the Institute will provide support in the development of specific initiatives intended for young people, and initiatives of MPs that support the improvement of the position of young people.
