On the occasion of the opening of the Olympic Games in Paris, a special postage stamp issued to commemorate the holding of the Olympic and Paralympic Games in Paris in 2024 and the 40th anniversary of the Olympic Games in Sarajevo was presented in Sarajevo, reports Anadolu.

The stamp was presented in the presence of Francois Delmas, Ambassador of France to Bosnia and Herzegovina, Loa Lagrange, Advisor for Cooperation and Cultural Activity of the Embassy and Director of the French Institute in Bosnia and Herzegovina, General Director of Post Adis Šehić and Executive Director Safet Trakić.

Named Amitie-Dove, this postage stamp represents a pair of doves, a universal symbol of peace, freedom and hope, and subtly combines the colors of France and Bosnia and Herzegovina. flags.

“My country, France, is proud to organize the Olympic and Paralympic Games this year, exactly 40 years after the Olympic Games in Sarajevo. It is an unusual historical moment for our two countries that are bound by strong friendship. Today, Paris is becoming the center of the world,” said French Ambassador Francois Delmas.

He pointed out that today they presented a postage stamp that celebrates the historical coincidence of 40 years, between the Games in Paris and Sarajevo.

With this unique project, the French artist Ojan transcends borders and celebrates the unity between Paris and Sarajevo through a drawing representing a pair of pigeons, a universal symbol of freedom and hope.

“This stamp primarily symbolizes the connection between France and Bosnia and Herzegovina. The design was realized by the French artist Joan Tarragon. The stamp was issued at BH Post. Ojan chose the colors of the flags of our two countries: blue, white, red and yellow. This stamp reminds us of the past of the Olympic Games, and at the same time embraces the spirit of those who start in Paris today. The cluster, held by pigeons, resembles the Olympic rings. The main element of the drawing are two doves, which are a universal symbol of peace and freedom. And that’s what we want for you and for us,” Loe Lagrange said.

General Director of the Post Office, Adis Šehić, reminded that the postage stamp represents the story of important events, personalities and the best stories of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

“I want to wish good luck to our competitors who will participate in the Olympic Games. And this personalized postage stamp will certainly be part of a beautiful story that will leave Bosnia and Herzegovina for Paris”, added Šehić.
