Bosanska Krupa has taken a significant step towards the improvement of sustainable tourism in this area, by signing a contract with the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) for the project Via Dinarica III “Sustainable tourism for green development along the paths of the Via Dinarica in Bosnia and Herzegovina”. The project is estimated at over 57,000 KM, where the City of Bosanska Krupa will invest over 37,000 KM, while UNDP will contribute over 20,000 KM.
This project represents a key component of the city’s long-term tourism strategy, reported the official Bosanska Krupa city website.
– The center of this project is the construction of the Ade – Aek bridge, a long-awaited infrastructure development, which will play a key role in improving accessibility and connectivity along the Via Dinarica trails, as well as our city. This project, which made BiH trails famous for its breathtaking natural beauty and outdoor adventure opportunities, put Bosnia and Herzegovina on the map as a top eco-tourism destination. In addition to the natural beauty that Bosanska Krupa has, this bridge will represent a significant value for all the people of Kruplja, since Aek is a place we remember with reverence. The bridge will enhance the attractiveness of Bosanska Krupa, attract nature lovers, mountaineers and eco-tourists to explore the rich cultural and natural offer of this area – it was stated.
Mayor Armin Halitović expressed optimism regarding the impact of the project, emphasizing its strategic importance.
– This project is not only of an infrastructural nature. This is about positioning Bosanska Krupa as a leader in sustainable tourism. The Ade-Aek bridge will open new opportunities for tourism and improve the attractiveness of our city to domestic and foreign tourists – said Halitović.
As pointed out, with the construction of the Ade-Aek bridge, Bosanska Krupa not only improves connectivity but also strengthens its status as a vital destination along the Via Dinarica corridor.
