The BiH Council of Ministers, at an extraordinary telephone session, determined the Proposal of the basis for concluding the Agreement on access to higher education and admission to studies in the Western Balkans and proposed to the BiH Presidency to make a decision on the acceptance of this agreement.
This agreement, among other things, regulates the recognition of secondary school qualifications for the purpose of access to higher education and admission to studies in accredited public higher education institutions of the Western Balkan countries, which enables the right to study in each of the signatory countries of this agreement in the Western Balkans.
By accepting this agreement, Bosnia and Herzegovina fulfills one of the measures from the Action Plan for the Common Regional Market for the period 2021-2024, after the leaders of the Western Balkans signed the Declaration on the Common Regional Market at the EU-Western Balkans summit, which was held in November 2022 in Sofia.
The Ministry of Civil Affairs of Bosnia and Herzegovina will submit the proposal of the basis for concluding the Agreement on access to higher education and admission to studies in the Western Balkans to the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina for further procedure, and for BiH the chairwoman of the Council of Ministers of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Borjana Krišto, was proposed as a signatory.
